Making money blogging is such a hot prospect these days and for those who’ve made such prospect into reality, they’ve only got good things to say. But aside from telling the world how possible making money from blogs is, they also usually say they’re beholden to search engines.

For example, Google, which is currently the world’s most powerful Internet search engine there is, started out as a site where people could type in a line or a word or to pertaining to the topic they want to research on. In seconds, the engine goes through its millions of web pages and serves the user with the best ones that its search spiders have picked out based on the words entered by the searcher into the search box.

If you’re considering making money with blogs, Google is something you should master, particularly the ways it indexes pages. If you want your blog to earn you more money, you’ve got to make it perform well on Google Search Engine Ranking Pages or SERPs.

Of course, if you want your blog to gain profit, you have to make it visible on the web where it’s supposed to thrive. There can be many other ways to achieve this visibility but it can’t be denied that Google can be the most powerful because it can actually promote your blog to all Internet users.

Definitely, you’re going to need that if you’re going to get the cash rolling in. As a problogger or professional blogger-to-be, you need to educate yourself on the rules that the search giant goes by when ranking web pages. First off, you need keywords. Keywords are used by the search spiders to detect what a site or page is all about.

When you don’t use keywords or don’t use them consistently, there’s a tendency for these spiders to be confused. But when a page has keywords consistently used and spaced reasonably within the content, search spiders have a very easy way of indexing the page when an Internet user searches for a topic relevant to such keywords.

This is why some pages make it to the first page of SERPs and some simply don’t. In other words, keywords play a major role in determining your moneymaking blog’s success. Of course, these keywords have to be arranged within your blog in a way that makes sense.

Spiders have become more intelligent these days and they know when such keywords are meant only for SEO purposes and not for giving sincere information to readers. This is why you also need to maintain good quality posts. And you definitely need to update your blog often because spiders also know how to detect fresh blogs which are always, of course, what readers want.

So if you want to make money blogging, make your blog search engine-friendly. How to blog may be the first question you’ll ask when you’re in the planning stage of developing a blog but the more significant challenge lies in how to make your blog worthy enough of earning money through your readers’ loyalty as keep publishing posts.

It’s Okay To Monetize Your Blog Now

No One Cares About Your Blog

I have been blogging and making money online for a few years now but for many they are only just looking to start blogging now and it’s now they should be looking at why they should monetize their blogs.

First blogging has become a global pastime and a lot of blogs are for keeping friends and family up to-date on event in their lives and those around them. Today however it is a great opportunity for many as monetizing their blogs, even just a little can help them deal with recession by bringing in another stream of income.

Individually my blogs don’t earn me a ton of money but how I over came that was to have multiple blogs about my hobbies and interests.

Your first step is to create a blog that is keyword focused on one particular niche. Note, the niche has to be a niche that has money in it or you may just find you are spinning your wheels.

Blogs started a online journals and it’s how I got started blogging. I was blogging about my hobbies and interests but not all from one blog. I broke my blogs into niches and just started sharing what I know and what I was learning that would interest my readers. The first blog I started was about fly fishing.

The Dilemma. Should I Monetize My Blog Or Not?

When I first started blogging I wasn’t even thinking about monetizing it. I had web sites dedicated to earning money and my blogs were just for sharing hobbies and interest, so you can see how it might seem a little conflicting to go from not even trying to earn to putting ads on my blogs. It can be a struggle making that decision, will people still read my blog?

For me it wasn’t until I actually quit my day job that I took monetizing my blogs seriously. And today it’s great because of the recession we are living in. It’s nice to have multiple streams of income.

Do Things Right And Readers Will Learn To Trust You

Monetizing your blog doesn’t mean you have to turn it into a billboard for ads. If you are building a following, your readers may resent you turning your good thing into a billboard. You need to understand that there are ways to make money from your blog without changing the basic feel of your blog. And as far as I am concerned that’s where I make a difference over so many others.

Keep it clean in appearance and your readers won’t mind at all, although there are always going to be complainers you just have to learn to live without them.

When your readers see something that is on track for the niche and something they need they won’t mind reaching for their plastic. See after you build a readship that learns to trust you they won’t mind seeing things and even paying for things from you because they trust you.

Making the Decision

Learn what you need to know about blogging and making money before you start and the decision is much easier and your results will most likely be much more productive.

If you plan on seeing a five-figure income you will have to work hard and stay committed. Most people are never going to reach that as they are looking for get rich methods of marketing and don’t stick to topics they know enough about.

You don’t have to quit your job but you will have to put in a lot of time which means you will have little time for other things. Just working and sleeping but eventually you will reach the point where you are earning more online than offline and thats the time you can start thinking about going full time blogger.

The Time For Monetizing Is At Hand

Monetizing your blog is not a sin or a hypocritical move. It makes perfect sense if you spend a lot of time blogging and have gained a following.

A Review of Blogging in Action

Blogging in Action is the package that gets us the most excited. This is a great ebook, and ebook might just be the wrong word to describe it.’ The author, Shaun Taylor, has certainly outdone himself — but what you really care about is how the book and resource can help you, so let’s get to it!

When you open the ebook for the first time you notice that it is very large with 258 pages of content! This is a huge accomplishment in the world of ebook publishing. Some might express consent that it will be too much information in too compact a space, but the organization of the content makes it a non-issue.

Shaun starts out by outlining his expectations and goals for the ebook. He wants it to be current and up to date, cover many different topics, appeal to different experience levels, distill theory and concepts into action steps, and create a clear path for anyone who wants to make their mark as a blogger. He succeeds in his goal.

As much as we try to give unbiased and impartial reviews and tell you both the good and the bad, it is really difficult to do in this case. Even with a critical viewpoint, there isn’t anything that screams out to be changed here. There are times we thought, “wait a sec, he should have…oh, he did!”

For those who are concerned about having to dig through a pile of information they already know or aren’t interested in, Shaun takes a unique approach to solving that problem. He not only wrote a standard table of contents, he also included ‘tags’ that mark when you should read a topic. For example, if he includes non-essential information he marks it with a tag! A very effective addition for those who don’t have a lot of time to read.

Anyone can grasp the concepts presented in this ebook, as everything is covered from A to Z. The different sections in Blogging in Action generally start out with an overview of that particular section, but then they quickly move into action steps. This is great, because becoming a successful blogger isn’t just about reading the information, it’s about actually doing something with it. If you are not convinced to do just that after reading this book, no book will!

The table of contents for things you’ll learn is too large to list, but here are some of our favorites:

  • Choosing a platform
  • What is a blog?
  • Configuring your blog for readers and search engines
  • Backing up your blog
  • What is a niche?
  • How to do keyword research (comes with a tool!)
  • Building your brand
  • Creating compelling content
  • Mistakes to avoid (this goes against what is taught in our least favorite blogging book)
  • Which directories to submit to
  • Article marketing
  • Finding .edu and .gov links!
  • Using social networking sites and strategy
  • Monetization strategies
  • Quick start videos for every step of the way

Clearly, Blogging in Action is the definitive guide for anyone who wants to get started with blogging. The book is professionally designed and very well edited. You can tell it was created for readers of all levels. This is the ebook to get if you want to get an ebook on how to blog and make money doing it.
